Empty TEMP folders in Windows XP

pardhans Your computer may slow down over time due to leftover Temporary (.tmp) files and Temporary Internet files . Temporary files and Temporary Internet files are left behind when a machine crashes, from installing and uninstalling programs.

Large number of left over items in these temporary folders has an impact on the speed of FileMaker Pro launching. For some reason FileMaker Pro has to look at every one of them as it launches. As the numbers of .tmp files build, so does the launch time. In some cases, it may take minutes to open.

Set your System to Display Hidden Files and Folders

Only delete .tmp files after a restart. Windows creates .tmp files to perform some task when you reboot. If you have an Axim handheld, remove it from its cradle as well.
    1. Click Start, then click Shut Down. Restart the computer.

    7. Select (check) only the Temporary Internet Files choice (Uncheck all other choices). Click OK.
    8. When asked to confirm the action, click Yes. The window will close by itself. Note: You will now clear the TEMP folder.

How to make a text area

www.pardhans.cu.cc Some times we want to insert plain text into Blog Post or template. This may be a piece of HTML code or JavaScript that you would like readers to copy

Some times we want to insert plain text into Blog Post or template. This may be a piece of HTML code or JavaScript that you would like readers to copy, such as the “Link to Site” code in the sidebar. It could also be the Terms of a Legal Agreement that users can view. How to creat forms in Blogs? the text box can also be used in feedback forms for users to input feedback and comments.

The HTML code of the text box makes use of the property. For the text box to be in a Blog Post, while drafting the Post, switch to “Edit HTML” mode to insert the following code. If it is to appear in the sidebar or other parts of the template, go to Template -> Page Elements -> Add a Page Element and select “HTML/JavaScript” and insert this code.

Text area readers can input text

The textarea HTML code which allows readers to input TEXT is this:-
      Example:-1

      TEXT

The attribute cols indicates the number of visible columns. The rows shows the number of visible rows. Note that this simply sets the dimensions of the text box. The lines of text can exceed the specified area, and when that happens, there will be scrollbars at the sides to allow users to view all the contents. In the above code, users can input words and characters into the text area. There is no limit to the amount of text that can be inserted but browsers may have their own preset limits.

This is what readers will see...

Any one can edit the text field Try it

You can use it for a -Link to This Site- Code.. Example:-2

      This will produce...

OK ... Now make try to edit this....
Why can't? .....because it is read only text area.

      Read Only Attribute in Textarea

To display a read only text just add a few words in to example:2 text area code
      The textarea code is:-
      Read Only Code.. Example:-3

      <a href="http://www.pardhans.cu.cc"><img border="0" src="http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/3497/promotesmall.png"></a>

This code makes a result that....

      Note: < = <
            > = >
            </ARMY/> = </ARMY/>

      Word Wrap in Textarea

This is perhaps more relevant when we apply the textarea code to forms. When the text reaches the end of a row, the words can be wrapped in these manners:-

"soft" wrap – text will wrap as the user types but line breaks are not included when the text is submitted in a form.

"hard" wrap – if users enter line breaks into the text, it will be shown in the submitted form.

wrap is "off" – this will put all the words in one line, without any line breaks or wrapping.

The default value is "soft" wrap.
      Word Wrap Code.. Example:-4

      TEXT

Blogger Beginners Should Care These Five Hints

      pardhans Blogging........
There is really no reason not to get started today. Here are top 5 hints if you are just beginning as a blogger.

Blogging is a great hobby and it can also be used as a way to start ones identity on the World Wide Web. Blogging is much easier to start than a web page, and it is a lot easier to maintain then a web site. There are quality Free Blog Hosts available, so there is really no reason not to get started today. Here are top 5 hints if you are just beginning as a blogger.

      Start With a Free Blog

Word Press or Blogger for the best places to get started in blogging. They both are easy to set up and use. Blogger might have better and easier to get help. However Word Press keeps adding more advanced features and does have a pay feature for more upgrades. With each Word Press account you can have more than one blog, and Blogger does offer the same feature, too.

Think of a GREAT Name for Your Blog

If you are starting with free blog service, you will want to register an account, but for each blog you want to have a creative name that you choose for you blog. For example if you were writing a blog about being a teacher you might want to see if you can get a name for your blog that has teacher ?style? keywords for the title. You can change the title of your blog at any time you can just edit your title, but to choose your URL it would be different.

      Picking the URL

The URL is simply defined as the Universal Resource Locator. An Internet World Wide Web Address. When you choose a URL for your free Blog it is shown as: xxxx.yyyy.com. You would substitute your name for your blog where ?xxxx? is. Your ?xxxx? can be one word or a combination of words with no spaces between them. Several of the good names are already taken but with imagination and patience you can find a suitable name. Maybe choose your own name, for example. creativecorner.yyyy.com. Remember that the URL title you pick is permanent unless you choose to delete it. You can delete free blogs at any time.

Make a Commitment to Post Often

Most people start blogging because they have something to say! Some people start them for other reasons but having been a Blogger for several years now and a visitor to several blogs, the majority of blogs out there are started by people who enjoy writing and have something to say, even if it is just commenting on news articles or sharing their poetry. Some people enjoy ranting. Have you visited other people?s blogs before? Go to any search engine and type in the name of something you are interested in like: kellen kepler Blogs and see what shows up. So you can find people with the same interests as yours. You can read what they have to say then go comment on their blog and write about it on your blog. You can ask people with similar interests to share on your blog, too.

      Do Not Delete Your Blog

Maybe you have started your blog and you hate it. Well think once, twice, three times and more about whether or not you want to keep or delete your blog. Why should keep your blog? The main reason is you are starting your presence on the internet. That might not mean much to you if you are new, but it might mean more in months or years to come. Your blog is real estate in the World Wide Web Land. Real Estate here can become valuable, too. You can become valuable as you grow your property (your blog). Blogging is a fun hobby, but you never know what the future is going to hold for you or where you hobby might lead you. Especially if you are building your blog over time, and you are following some of the steps mentioned in #4 above. People on the internet and bloggers are usually a friendly group. We love to have comments on our blogs. We usually respond to them. It is a special present to us when someone takes the time to make a comment. We love suggestions and people sharing what they are doing, too. The only thing that most bloggers hate is SPAM! That is where people post only to sell something or lead people to websites that they might not want to go to. Don?t fear that though since blogging platforms have powerful filters now and you get to approve what people can say on their comments.

You will find that Blogging is a lot of fun! If you can send emails you can blog. It is very easy to start up a blog using Word Press or Blogger. If you have been thinking about starting a blog and have not done so yet, just make a try. It is a great free hobby and you never know where it might lead you. Share your interests with the world. There are thousands of readers out there searching for information. Perhaps they will find you. I hope you will enjoy your blogging experience as much as I enjoy blogging and reading blogs, too.

ExampleIf you update your blog frequently, more people will return on a regular basis to read it. Establishing a reader base will motivate you to write more and in turn more people will read your posts.

Get into a routine of blogging. Make it part of your day. Soon, you will notice things during your day and think, "Hey, I'll blog this."

Personalize your blog. A pretty blog always catches the eye. Visit blogger.com for ideas; they have a list of their 10 most recently updated blogs.

Visit blogs that are relevant to your topic. For instance, if you have a blog on lawns, you may want visit and post on allaboutlawns.com's forum. Circles of interest are the essence of blogging, and can help you be recognized as an authority on lawns in the blogosphere.

Keep the posts interesting. Try to avoid repetitive entries or posts that aren't relevant to the topic you've chosen. If people are coming to your site to learn about bacon, and your big topic today is about potholes or pigeons in the park, people will be perturbed, not pleased.

Spell check your writing before posting. Not that every one out there is an English major, but a site that features poor spelling and grammar will not be taken seriously.

Some sites allow you to make money off your blog by using an Amazon Associates ID or by placing Google AdSense advertisements. If popular enough, your blog could start to pay your bills.

Don't feel bogged down if no one visits your site for the first few months. As with any community this large (172 million, remember), it will take some time for your blog to get noticed.

Find blog aggregators. They will place a link to your site on their webpage or have a feed running from your blog so that every time you post something, it will show up on the blog aggregator homepage. Also, this can help increase readership.

If you want a broad (international) readership, do not use too many abbreviations or slang terms that might not be easily understood by people who are not from your country.

Repost interesting news about your topic from Yahoo Oddly Enough..., other Yahoo! stories, Crayon.net and other websites that you frequently read.

      Make your blog Famous

pardhans Some claim that posting at least once every day is best. Some also say that three quick posts a day are far more effective than one long post every three days.
Choose what type of blog you want to create. Carve out a niche and pick a catchy title that captures the essence of your blog. Remember that a blog, like your clothes, is an extension of you. For most people, your blog site may be the only thing they identify you with and you want to be sure that who you are on the inside is reflected in your blog.

Decide how often you are going to post. Some claim that posting at least once every day is best. Some also say that three quick posts a day are far more effective than one long post every three days. Yet others still claim that, when they update a blog every other day, they get more readers than when updating two or three entries in a single day. Write whenever you want – it's the content that matters! Whatever you do, remember that, for most bloggers, it's all about reading, and many of them would prefer quality over quantity. Once you get started, you'll find that you attract a certain readership, and you may have to adjust how you work your journal to appease and keep the readers you've obtained.

Get some things together beforehand. Some recommend putting together about a month's worth of material before you tell anyone about your blog. It is recommended that you just start writing and fame will come in time. Feel free to go back and rewrite entries to make everything just the way you want before or after you "go public." You can edit any entry at any time with most blog sites. Writing a popular blog doesn't happen overnight. The essence of the blog stems from making journals which means the blog is FOR YOU. Work it how you feel is most appropriate.

Tell close friends about your blog and ask them to tell their friends. Often, if you use it as another way to network with people around you, you'll get a better response. If you push it too hard, don't be surprised if they ignore your blog, because they may feel you're fishing for compliments and attention...remember, blogging is about you, and the more attention you put into yourself, the more people are going to notice.

Look around the Internet for blogs that people love to read. Read and post to them religiously. Leave a note that actually has something to do with their site so that they know you actually took the time to pay attention to the material posted. Do not expect anything back in return. Just commenting will cause others to be more likely to visit your blog and do the same. Often, when you make comments to sites, a link to your own personal site will already be included with your comment, unless you are posting from one hosting site to the next. If you're at ITW and you read a blog on Myspace, then it would be appropriate to include such a link.
