Empty TEMP folders in Windows 7

pardhans Your computer may slow down over time due to leftover Temporary (.tmp) files and Temporary Internet files
Normally the path of Temp folder will be
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp

In order to locate temporary folder in windows 7, follow the below steps:


    1.    Click Start, in the search box, type CMD.
    2.     Right click on CMD and choose run as Administrator.
    3.     In the command prompt type ECHO %Temp%.

    This displays the full path of the actual temp folder and you can follow the path and identify its location by copying the entire path and pasting it in Run command or in search options.

    1. Close all open applications.
    2. Click the Start button.
    3. In the Search programs and files box, enter Disk Cleanup and press Enter.
    4. Locate Disk Cleanup in the list and double-click to open. Wait for the window to open.
    5. Select (check) these choices.
      • Downloaded Program Files
      • Temporary Internet Files
      • Offline webpages
      • Recycle Bin
      • Temporary files
      • Thumbnails
      *Setup Log Files and System error memory dump files should be left un-checked.
    1. Click OK. Click Delete Files.
    2. The window will close when done.
